Why sales! One question I am always bumped with from New Interns, distributors or even retailers. I always say Why NOt! Sales teaches you the core of business. You are actually administrating business, hiring field employees, managing and executing plans and negotiating with retailers! Isn't it all departments in one go.

Here are some signs that you might want to consider quitting your job as a sales manager: * Misalignment with company goals or sales strategy: If you don't believe in the product or service you're selling, or if you disagree with the company's sales tactics, it can be demotivating and lead to frustration. * Lack of growth opportunities: If there's no clear path for advancement within the company, you might stagnate in your career. * Poor management: A micromanaging boss or one who doesn't provide support can make your job difficult and stressful. * High turnover among sales reps: If your team is constantly losing salespeople, it can be a sign of a toxic work environment or unrealistic sales goals. * Compensation and benefits not meeting expectations: If you're not being fairly compensated for your work, it can be time to look for a new opportunity.

Something I’ll never waiver on in hiring, that happens to make our team so special, is that we hire the person, not the resume. We are chasing people who are truly hospitable. The kind that want to do good things not for a financial reward, but because the idea of doing good makes their day better. The kind who get a light in their eyes when they delight a client. The kind who feels privileged to be a part of making positive impact in another person’s life. Hire for the values you hold dearest first, and for the experience, potential demonstrated, and aptitude second. #samsales

If you want to ensure that you are being recognized for your value you need to communicate clearly what your worth. I remember delivering some clothing to the owner of a car dealership and he asked me "you see that fellow that just left my office"? I just hired him on the spot. He saw and heard something in the way this guy presented himself that said, Hire me now or wish you had later. It got me thinking about effectively communicating your personal value. The fellow who just got hired did this in a matter of minutes. You need to tell the person who makes the decisions, who you are, what you do, where you want to be. Hi, my name is Mark Cosco and I elevate the professionalism of your sales floor. I do this by ensuring every client who leaves your store has been given the best choices of clothing as it relates to style, fit, occasion, and work environment. I help to meet and exceed goals through my positive and results oriented actions and training. This is my value

#PositionYourselfIn applying for a job, you're effectively a salesperson promoting a product, and it's up to you to demonstrate that the product is valuable, high quality, and superior to anything a competitor can offer. Potential employers or buyers are looking for the best value for their money, so will be driving the deal in the opposite direction. If you've positioned yourself well, they won't want to risk losing you, however, and might well be prepared to settle at the top of the market rather than at the bottom.#makeithappen

Staying too loyal to your first employer limits your growth and earning potential.Unless you are surrounded by highly skilled sellers who you learn from (which is rare in your first role), start applying for your 2nd sales job after 6 months.Assuming you have worked on your communication skills, you can literally 2x your OTE, overnight, by going from your 1st to 2nd role. You also put yourself in an environment to learn from better talent & leaders. It's a win-win.You're in your early 20s.The only person you should be loyal to is yourself.
