It looks like I’m on the phone but I was actually adjusting the helmet cam (iphone attached to a suction cup mount on right (passenger side) of my helmet. Lol

The car is bone stock and was at the limit on the gas aimed at the corner exit.

Yes the body roll is quite bad stock.

I can tell you from experience that getting just front and rear adjustable sway bars (I got flying Miata 3 way adjustable) will cut body roll by about half. I went to the same track before them and after them and the difference was significant.

They’re Enkei GTC02 in Hyper Silver 17x8 et42 with 215/45 Michelin MP4S, 3mm spacers, and progress springs. Also about 2lbs lighter than the OEM wheels (not BBS). Purchased from Goodwin Racing.

Wow, meaty - love the look. Are you lowered at all? Any rubbing? I have the TE37 Sonics as well but the car is lowered so not sure if I can go wider than the 205/50s I've got on there now, just trying to gather a couple data points :).

I’m at around 13.5” F and 13.75” R, with -2.7 front and -2.2 rear camber. I run Ohlins and Karcepts camber bushings.

The 225/50s look really bad if you aren’t lowered and running at least -1.5 camber.

Sorry I must have missed your post. As I think somebody else replied, it is Australian spec. They label it GTRS and is the top spec here. It comes standard with a front sway bar, BBS wheels and Brembo brakes. No Recaros unfortunately and it is the 2l engine. This photo was back when it was completely OEM.

Not sure how I feel about gold or bronze on the PGM so good choice. If anything, maybe a hyper silver for contrast?

Edit: this session the sun was at a horrible spot (or rather I should say correctly - that the track was built in a horrible spot considering the Earths rotation & relation to where the sun is) so that’s why I have sunglasses on. Literally blinding

Thanks. A lot of folks pawn this color off as a dark color. But when it's clean and sunny as it is most days here in LA, the color just pops in the sun.

In most pictures, it's hard to tell it's even blue. Most of the time it looks black to me. But in bright sun......

Thanks when I first saw the couple of press photos that were released of this color combo I was hooked. I thought what a great sporty / classy combo. I searched all over SoCal for one in this combo (from Santa Barbara to San Diego) ended up finding one in Riverside about 1 hour drive from where I live in LA.

I'm absolutely drooling over the MGM color and can't wait for my MGM club. Your pictures providing great variation in lighting! I love how it looks almost black in darker conditions. My 2021 CX-30 Turbo is Polymetal Gray and I've sort of tired of that color over the last year.

Yeah, fairly good at it. Believe it or not (most people don't), I've found that white is actually almost the best color for hiding dirt. My 2012 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4x4 is white and always looks clean. Well, I wash it once a month too. My 2016 ND1 Sport (Arctic White) always looked clean too.

But the MGM.....don't care how many times I have to wash it....can't wait!

Hahaha I feel you. Yeah I have had exclusively white trucks because of that. It hides dirt so well. But you are never going to get the amount of polish and reflection in white as you see in my pic.

Different strokes for different folks ;) I personally love JDM culture along with all my friends. This particular drift charm a buddy brought me back from Japan many years ago and has been on many of my JDM Vehicles since now finding its home on the ND. I've also got a Chargespeed vented carbon fiber hood and waiting on Work s1r's and bride Stradias III seats from the land of the rising sun right now. Probably not to the taste of most of the Miata net crowd but personally, I can't wait :D Nothing more fun than a sexy modded JDM inspired build. She might even be as fun as the 124 once I put the super charger on over the winter too :D

Someone also pointed out that NOW with a new paint job would be the best time to trade for an RF- and I’ve been thinking about it. I really want a 2020-2021 RF in arctic white or black. As long as it’s a 2020+ 6MT. 2019 if I could find a 30AE but it’s likely that will cost more than a brand new 2022 BBR Club.

Maybe machine grey. Anything but soul red. Lol

1) PPF it and enjoy it rather than expensing another vehicle. The trade in won't be valued any meaningful amount higher (if at all) just because of a fresh respray. Wouldn't be unusual that the fresh repaint is better (thicker, better cured) than the factory job.
2) You'll have no less concern or potential issues with any other color. Mazda is expert at thin, soft paint.

I normally drive along the roads of the northern zone. There is less traffic with good routes.
Anyway, one of these days I will do the route you have mentioned. :thumbs:

Storm lives where there is substantial bad weather and cold but when I was Storm's age in more temperate MD my Miata tops were up only in the rain and snow. I dressed warmly with velcro closures on the arms and neck of my wind breaker, Here in Fl my top is up more often because of the more frequent but short rain storms and day temps often plus 90. The RF is perfect. Down when not raining and below say about 92. My airplane style sun screen can flip over my head when the sun is directly overhead.

Add on hard tops while suited for snow loads and somewhat better warmth and lower noise are put it on in the fall and take it off in the spring. They are big and heavy and the best solution is a motor lift attached to you garage rafters to get it off and on and for storing it for the top down season. Hell no. How it looks is irrelevant. You have a convertible, don't make it a two seater coup. The RF is a better choice. Up when you need it and down the rest of the time. And God Bless the add on MX5 Things windows and roof controller which together with the ig cable enable you to put the windows and roof up and down remotely with the car off using your key fob.

The 3 is slated to be track car #2 :D

There are a handful of brake and suspension mods on my list, but I'm going to take it out first with just a brake fluid and pad upgrade to get a baseline feel for it. It's very capable on the street but I can feel it starting to land-yacht when I get to the edge of street performance. I don't know if you've seen the thread, but I've been keeping a pretty detailed write up here -> Check it out

So, your argument is largely based on maximizing the number of compliments you receive? I suppose that is important to some.

This is a clear case of "live and let live." People buy their Miatas for all sorts of reasons, and they enjoy them in all sorts of ways. Some people want a convertible. Some people want a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car. Some people want something cute. Some people want to be seen and receive a lot of compliments. For most buyers, it is a combination of factors. In my opinion, they're all valid. Do what you want to do with your car.

Regarding the removable hardtop, my tastes have changed on that point throughout Miata ownership. I used to love driving with the top down almost all the time. Then, I really started to dislike baking under the sun. Skin cancer runs in my family. For a while, I still enjoyed driving with the top down during the evenings and early mornings. But, eventually that faded away, too. Now, I just love the driving dynamics of the car. I truly enjoy driving a lightweight, underpowered, two-seat, rear-wheel-drive sports car spiritedly on back roads. I recently bolted a hardtop onto my NA. It matches my driving style and my ownership choices, and I think it looks really great.

"How it looks is irrelevant." I really couldn't disagree more. Most sports car enthusiasts care about how their car looks. Many of the modifications that I see discussed in this forum are purely aesthetic. Do you care about the way your car looks? By the way, how is your green-wrapped Miata with Ferrari badges on it doing?

Personally, I love that people use their Miatas in different ways than I do. It adds to the great history of this car and increases the likelihood that it will survive into the future.

There are many coups that are better suited for daily driving than a Miata with an attached hardtop . The insides are cramped with an archaic instrument panel and poorly designed seats. It can be made a lot bette? Why get a Miata. Top down and fun handeling.. Need sun [rotection? There are better chpices .

Took the RF on a 1k mile trip to Pike's Peak (and various other Colorado places) and back.

Got the XPEL full front-end film on it right before the trip, installed a front + back hardwired dash cam, did some touchups with Automotive Touchup, and had Blackstone analyze the oil to see how things are looking after almost 8k miles total.

Still love every second in this thing.

I think the NA/NB look best with a hard top on.

Sure could get a GR86 and add have a small backseat and trunk but the OPTION of the top down is not there. Just not happening.

I prefer having the OPTION to drop the top, which I don’t do all that often.

Both my moms parents died of skin cancer (my grandparents) died of skin cancer. I have extremely sensitive skin and almost lost an arm due to poison ivy or oak getting infected when I was around 14-15.

I think a hard top would be great for my circ*mstances. Maybe not for yours or many others - but it’s cheaper and so much less work than swapping everything over to a new RF model.

We did actually discuss leaving the roof black, the guy doing the wrap would agree with you about the contrast. I like the solid colour and I figured if the top ages more or I change my mind it's easier to remove that panel than to add it on at a later date.

I'm not an RF fan for other reasons that are personal, but there's no denying it looks fantastic. I've always maintained I like the "look" of the RF better than the ST. Beautiful car. I think the light of fortune shined on you when you found this while waiting for the one you ordered. I'm not an RF fan for other reasons that are personal, but there's no denying it looks fantastic. I've always maintained I like the "look" of the RF better than the ST. And the red......OMG awesome. :thumbs:

The red was my second choice, just below Machine Gray Metallic. If Mazda were smart and still made sunburst yellow, it would have been game over for all other colors. However, I don't want to get that discussion started again in this thread! :rofl:

Great picture! It looks like yours is lowered and with spacers which is what I'm wanting to do. Any wheel rub observed, or did the camber fix that?

Lowered to around 13.5", 16x8 +35 TE-37 Sonics, 225/50 Continental ECSs, Karcepts front camber bushings. Camber is -2.7 front, -2.1 rear, front caster is 7.0. No rubbing.

I run the stock BBSs with +20 spacers (hubcentric spacers w/ ARP studs, not bolt-ons) and it has a similar appearance.

With spacere thinnere then 17mm, nuts are stikking out over the spacere level. It makes no issue with OEM 16 and 17 rims but can be impossible to mount on for example 17 Ultraleggera (they do not have enough deep holes where spikes and nuts can hide).

There's a whole thread about the Eibach Pro Kit springs, suggest you check it out. I think the ride quality got better. Less body roll, suspension doesn't float and bounce around like OEM, better stance, better look and drives much better than stock on the street. I don't have the Bilsteins though (my Base model has Tokico shocks). Improved handling in every way on my ND.

After I installed Progress springs, splitter, diffuser and re-mounted my Einkies last month. Oh yeah, and installed the Edelbrock Supercharger.

Definitely going to need to upgrade the clutch...

Thanks, yes, this wrap is really pretty :) I love it how it changes in the sun.
It makes RF even more sport wavey and shapey :D

I had also wrapped 2.0 ST with Tweety colour but i prefered RF in Gold... Depsite 1.5 vs 2.0.
